Can't download Dark Souls via Games On Demand (Gold DOTW)

Pretty self-explanatory. I've just purchased a 1-month Gold membership, in order to gain access to the discounted version of Dark Souls, featured in the Deal Of The Week Exclusive To Gold category. I've checked, and I have a bit over 5 GBP (pounds) in my
bank account (the game is currently 3.74 GBP for Gold subscribers), but I keep receiving this error: "Sorry, your purchase cannot be completed at this time. Please try again."

I'm attempting to purchase it via the Xbox 360 dashboard, and it clearly says "£3.74", as opposed to the regular £14.99 that was displayed in my dashboard before I purchased the 1 month Gold subscription.

Also, up until now, I've experienced no issues with downloading DLC or games via Xbox Live, as I've successfully managed to purchase, among others:

- Overlord (Mass Effect 2 DLC)

- Dead Pixels (indie game)

- The Walking Dead - Episodes 1, 2, and 3

(and yes, I paid money for them; I didn't get them for free)

Moreover, I've successfully downloaded the free Game With Gold (Lara Croft And The Guardian Of Light), without any errors whatsoever.

What gives?

Download issues after purchase

I just purchased Dark Souls earlier today on the xbox on demand store. I, then, canceled the download for later on. But, when i went back to the download history, it didn't show Dark Souls on there. Any Ideas???????

 

Did the patch for the GwG version go online in North America yet?

Dark Souls has been a Game on Demand for some time now. They just recently re-released it for what I'm assuming was because Games with Gold. The earlier GoD version worked fine.

 

Scratch that!

Based on pure speculation, I simply set up my debit card as a payment method, via the 360 dashboard (I'd previously used PayPal for all of my marketplace purchases; though the PayPal account was linked to the same debit card, oddly enough), and attempted
yet again to download Dark Souls.

Lo and behold, it worked like a charm! PRAISE THE SUN! (Dark Souls reference)

 

I'm having a similar problem except, DARK SOULS is running on Games with Gold and every time I try to download it, it says "Can't download" and it does not even give me a reason why. I live and am regioned to South Africa. I have not tried any troubshoot
yet.

 

I have the same problem and I live in South Africa as well. It only downloads 75kb and then gives the error "can't download". I tried deleting the 75kb and download it again but the same happens.

 

My friend and I both have the exact same problem as TrussingLeaf073. We both reside in South Africa. Gives the exact same error message.

 

People of South Africa, I have an EU console and I reside in the U.S. , I think PAL consoles in which we have in common are not able to operate Dark Souls. Game's region does not match with the console's error.

 

Basically erfan hoy must run a pal game on a pal console and Yes there are games That are región specific

There is no way to tell If You can download a pal versión with a pal account Unless you actually Live in a pal región

 

Only versión you can get in an ntsc región is ntsc games

Not all are That picky but there are some

 

So you are saying that I cannot download this game unless I am in a PAL region because my console is PAL. Even if I changed the locale, and my account's region... correct?

 

I have friends in South Africa who have successfully downloaded the game yet I still can't download it. It's clearly not a region problem or they wouldn't be able to get it either

 

I'm also in South Africa and can't get it to download past 35% before giving me the "Can't download" error. If it's region locked then why give me the option to download it in the first place let alone wait until it's download a third of the game before
realising it's not compatible.

 

@ginger it is a region problem that's why your getting that error

do you have the exact same settings or did you buy the console out of region

the region of the console cannot be changed as it is hardcoded

if your friends have a SA console and have an SA account they have no issues

if you have a SA console but us account guess what that is a region mismatch

SA uses PAL and US uses ntsc

 

you must match the region of your account with your region of the console

this is why you don't usually buy out of region of have out of region accounts

I doubt your friends have the exact same situations

remember every situation is different
