Cant download Call Of Duty to new xbox (the digital only version)

We had to replace my sons xbox and due to availability, we went with one of the digital-only ones. He cant redownload some of the games that he already owned. We are talking about digitally purchased titles of course. Most downloaded fine but only a handful did not and the only one hes upset about is a certain Call Of Duty game (dont remember which one off the top of my head). I tried putting in a trouble ticket and it wouldnt let me. A call back isnt a great option (hes at school during the day and I dont mess with his xbox). So Im asking for help here.

Does anyone know why it wont let him redownload the game and what he can do to make it allow him? It was a digitally purchased item and he is signed into the account that it was purchased on. We have also tried power cycling the console and resetting it.

Hello WvKelliQ,

Please re-check the Order history to see if the game was successfully purchased under the account he is logging in to!

If it is, try to remove the profile that has the game, then turn off the console and remove the power cord; wait for 1 to 2 minutes before plugging it back in and turn on the console and sign in and try again!

If the issue persists, try to go to Settings -> System -> Clear local saved games -> restart.

Then, go to Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear it.

If the issue persists, try to soft reset your console: Select System > Settings > System > Console info > Select Reset console > Choose Reset and keep my games and apps.

Does he have the Xbox mobile app? If yes, he should go into the Xbox app and click on profile then click on games you own then click on the game you purchased and choose the console you want to download it to.

If you don't find it there, use the search button on the app to search for the game title. It'll show up for sure.

A.No, Xbox 360 game license will not be deactivated. Both game licenses will be retained.

If you buy Call of Duty Advanced Warfare on 360, digitally, you get the Xbox One version for free.

If you buy Destiny on 360, digitally, you get the Xbox One version for free.

Those are the only buy last gen, get new gen deals that I'm aware of which are active at the moment.

Also wanted to add...I did buy the Digital Download version of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
