Cant download apps or check for updates

I cant download the games pass I get your not quite ready any suggestions? says windows is making the update available etc etc. but I cant download the app. I have manually checked for updates and updated the latest one but to no avail.

Hello GauravTrasy, let's try this, first, make sure your windows and all its services are up to date, Windows 10 21H1 last Updates. and check if all Xbox Apps are upatded on Microsoft Store.

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available;

Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services.

the error says 0x80073D02 - cant install while the app is open, when its definately not open.

It downloads most of it but then it shows a button for an update, which it cant seem to download

Sounds to me like you need to download the Xbox beta app. If that's the case check to see if you are on windows 10 version 1903. If you are on anything below that, you can't download the Xbox beta app.

check your updates to see if it allows you to update to 1903. If not, go to this link https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 download
the tool and update it manually.

Once the update is complete download the Xbox beta app. log in to your account and download metro exodus

Also check if your console is not downloading a game/app/update
