Can't download any apps and updates

Hello,

I recently bought an x-box one and I can't download any apps (Netflix, You tube, Blu-ray Player, etc.). The installation seems to begin, then is queued and then stopped. A message with this error code : 0x80070011 appears. I tried some troubleshooting (power
cycle, reset my router, using an ethernet cable and not the wireless network, etc.). Nothing worked. I bought the game Thief and it's not possible to download the update. The result is that my x-box one is nearly useless.

But... I just bought CoD MW3 and now it's not letting me download the game update, therefore I can't play the game on Live. I get the same exact error code. Seems I can't download ANY updates. I can, however, download apps (EPIX, Hulu+), and stream video.
Strange.

 

Fifa17 online - can't playbgames

my gold is all ok, I'm online, can download updates, use other apps etc.... But I can't play any online game of Fifa 17? When playing a friend, connection was lost and when doing season can't find a player with similar rating.... Any ideas?

 

Had you purchased the console new or used?

Are you connected via ethernet or wireless? If you are wireless try using an ethernet cable for the downloads.

 

The console is new. Like you said, I tried again with an ethernet cable. It doesn't work. Installation stopped again and again.

 

Hey, Calculous! Sorry you're running into this with a new console. Let's see if we can narrow this down.

Just to clarify, you are trying to download this all to the console itself, not an external drive, right?

That aside, can you post back who your ISP is and what device you are connected to is? The 8007 codes are generally related to connectivity, so I want to make sure we've got all our bases covered.

Get back to us and we'll see where to go from there!

My ISP (Internet Service Provider, I suppose ? My maternal language is French) is Telus (Telus Quebec, more precisely). My router is a Telus Smart Hub (HSPA WiFi Router). The model is : 3G8WV-TS. I thought about a problem with the connectivity. Can you

We have a similar device listed on our Network Hardware forums, but it's not quite the same. It might be something to try, though! If you are comfortable enough, we can try to give this console a static IP address.

Here is the known issue with the
3G10WVR2 from the same company. It seems to cause an MTU error, which means that it just won't download big enough items like the console needs. Here on the

Overview page, you will find the steps to assign your console a static IP address under
DHCP Reservation. Hopefully they are the same on your device. You will need your MAC address from your console. You can find that under Settings > Network > Advanced Settings. It will show both a Wireless and Wired MAC in there.
Which ever way you prefer to be connected, that is the one you want to use.

If it's not the same set up for your router (the settings or screens might be different), I highly suggest contacting Telus and having them set this up for you. It's a very simple process; you will need the MAC address for the console still.

Let me know if this works for you. It's one step that we can try and hopefully it will work out. If not, I do have more we can possibly try!

Do I have to type this adress in my web browser or the adress you gave me in the Overview page (192.168.1.1.) ?

Sorry for the delayed response. The 198.168.1.1 address you will want to type into your browser to pull up the log in page for your router. Again, if you need any help, Telus should be able to help you set any of this up!

I contacted Telus and, with their help, I did what you asked (change the MAC address) but the same problem is still there. They will try some other things. I will speak again to them soon. You said you have more we can possibly try... Can you suggest others
solutions ?

 

Thanks for updating me, Calculous! I do have one more thing that will tell us if it's your console or your network.

If you have another friend locally that has an Xbox One that can download items, see if they would be willing to bring over their console and try to download something. You can also bring it over to a friend's house that may or may not have
a console and see if you can download anything there.

If your friend can download something or if you can't download something at another's house, it's likely your console causing the issue and we'll want to get it set up for a repair.

However, if your friend comes over and they're not able to download anything or if you are able to get what you are trying to download at a friend's place, it's likely your network.

Try that out for me and get back to us! Hopefully we can narrow this down.

Like you said, I tried some things and it appears that it was a problem with my network. With other networks, the X-box is okay. In the past weeks, I was in contact with Telus and, now, the problem is fixed (it seems it was a complex and rare problem!).
The X-box One works perfectly well and I can enjoy all its functions.

Can you say what exactly you did to resolve this issue? Im having exactly the same problem with the same type of router (Telus Smart Hub).
