updating problems with xbox live

I recently bought an Xbox and i updated the xbox live but at the end of the download i get this Status Code 8b05008-2a163c39-88e4fcf1 can some one help me it said i cannot go on xbox live i cant connect to anything plz help

Also wanted to ask if this is something I am required to fix myself or will waiting for xbox to fix it be better?

I can click the option to play offline on screen which just signs me into xbox live instantly/

Hi

When doing an update it will be replacing code sections of the game so once it has started it can't really be stopped. The game won't be complete until the update finishes.

Update: The error code, or whatever it is, changes everytime I try to do something on Xbox.com. Basically I can't acces any personal information.

Yes, you can't do an offline update on an insider device.

But the error code you're getting usually occur when the hard drive itself is failing.
