Can't do anything on the Xbox PC App

Some users are reporting this same error with Xbox App these last days. And to be honest with you, there's no fix for all for this. Some users can make it work, other users cannot even reinstalling Windows.

So I have a lot of troubleshooting for this error, but even though they may not work. Unfortunately this is happening lately and not even Microsoft official support has a fix for it.

But let's try with the steps below, please:

First, see if Windows is updated:

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click Download and Install Now option, if available (check for optional updates too);

After that:

- Completely uninstall Xbox App (and Xbox Companion App if you have it). Use their own uninstaller (just search for Xbox on Windows Start and click on uninstall).

- After uninstalling, go to Start > Type PowerShell > Right click it and select “Run As Administrator” > Type the following command and press Enter (you can run one at a time):

Get-AppxPackage Xbox | Remove-AppxPackage

Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxApp | Remove-AppxPackage

Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.GamingServices | Remove-AppxPackage –allusers

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

(If you receive an error when executing any of these commands, don't bother. Just follow the other steps here)

- Press Windows + R and type in "regedit". Press enter.

- Search for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services

- Delete the folders "GamingServices", "GamingServices.net" and "xinputhid" (if they're still there).

- Click on Start > Credential Manager > Windows Credentials. Search for Xbl|DeviceKey, click on it and then Remove.

- Delete Accounts and Cache folders at:

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AC\TokenBroker

- Also delete Microsoft Store local cache files at:

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe

- Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Microsoft Store > Advanced Options > Reset.

- Go to Start > Settings > Gaming > Xbox Networking > Fix it.

- Go to Start > Settings > Gaming > Game Mode > Set if OFF.

- Go to Start > Settings > Accounts > Sign-in Options > Privacy > Uncheck "Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up my device and reopen my apps after an update and restart."

- Press the Windows Key + R. Type WSReset.exe and press Enter.

- Restart Windows.

- If you're using a proxy, please stop using it for now:

- Press Windows Key + R. Type inetcpl.cpl and press Enter. Click the Connections tab, and then click LAN settings. Uncheck the Use a proxy server for your LAN check box. Click Ok.

- Please check if Date and Time is set correct. Uncheck "Set the time automatically", do it manually.

- Run PowerShell as an Administrator again and run the command:

start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

- Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt. Open Microsoft Store after the installation and login with the correct Microsoft Account.

- Finally, install Xbox App (and Xbox Companion App if you had it) again. Open it and login to the correct Microsoft/Xbox account. If you are on the Xbox Insiders program, click on the profile image and navigate to the settings menu. Head over to the General sub-menu in the Settings menu. Uncheck the “Use advanced installation and management features” option.

Try to play your games and see if it works. If it doesn't, please tell me what error code do you still receive.

Sorry to hear about your issue. Let's try some steps that might help. Kindly press the Win + R key to open the Run dialog.

Type cmd and click OK to open Command Prompt.

In the Command Prompt window, type the following command and hit Enter to execute:

WSReset.exe

then try go to Settings > Apps & Features > Apps > Search the Minecraft app > Uninstall.

I tried all of that and none of it would work. Install keeps failing so i can't delete and reinsall windows. And none of the other things you had me try worked either. Still can't do anything with the Xbox app on my PC or even do a fresh install because it keeps failing

Hello this has been happening to me for a while now I couldn't click the game tiles or anything for that matter on gamepass for pc, clicking wouldn't do anything. I wondered if it was something to do with my microsoft account as my profile photo was not showing for gamepass even though I was signed in and I also changed my password which may have caused a problem. So I have just fixed it on my pc so I hope this can help someone. This is what I did. I couldn't click anything in the gamepass pc app but I wanted to sign out to try to clear error, so I signed out of my account at the top right of the microsoft store app, then I clicked the windows start button and signed out of windows. Signed back into windows, went to windows settings, accounts, manage my microsoft account, signed out of my microsoft account at the top right, then signed out of windows again. Signed back into windows, then I think gamepass had message that I was not signed onto ms store. so clicked that and signed back into ms store and ms account and gamepass pc is working now.
