Can't copy OSU1.zip file to USB (Offline System Update)

When I ask 7zip to check the archive it reports 5 of the 8 files have CRC errors. I have downloaded it many times with different browsers and used Microsoft download manager... all the same failures... I have checked my RAM it is ok I have saved the download
to 3 different storage devices... Still the same result... getting Very FRUSTRATED! Tech support said clear cache etc... done all that and no change... Grrrrr!

Folks! I can tell you that after all the effort above it was solved for me by installing chrome. the download was quicker than on edge and Internet explorer and MS download manager and I have no errors.... that is all I can say!

So that I know we're referring to the same file.

Download the OSU1.zip file to a folder on your computer.

Right click OSU1.zip and select 'Properties'. Click 'Archive', and post up the following values:

Total length:

Packed length:

Ratio:

Right click the OSU1.zip file and select 'Extract here'.

Let me know how that goes.

Total length: 4,277,952,512

Packed lenght: 4,230,446,348

Ratio: 98%

Is what I have currently on 4 different versions I've downloaded from 4 different browsers to 4 different direcotries/hard drives.

Have downloaded with the Ping going (it's not my connection timing out at all, however) with Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer & Edge, my internet speed isn't the fastest in the world (25 down) so it is frustrating as it does take
a little time to get it downloaded each time. I've spent the better part of about a day now so far trying to get this.

I'm not asking for whether your connection get timed out, or bandwidth, or throughput (data rates). I'm only asking what packets loss, in %, you have while downloading the OSU1.zip file.

I really appreciate the effort you put in to this.

Yeah not a problem, 0% packet loss on my end when downloading, attempted it again yesterday on a different network with my laptop hardwired and still not working.

congrats. I assume that now you have error free system update files. Is there any ways you can post only error free system.xvd file for us!! I think that all these problems cause by error of system.svd. I feel like if I get error free system.xvd file and
replace with my system.xvd file, it will be help to success update. I suggested this method to Xbox support team, and there is no answer from them for week. Let me know what do you think!!

I figured out how to fix this,

Once you download the .zip file you normally can't drag and drop system.xvd thats inside of osu1.zip. All you have to do is try to open system.xvd with winrar and it obviously won't open with winrar but it will now try to open every .xvd file as winrar so
now you can drag osu1.zip onto your thumb drive fine

I downloaded OSUDT2 from the ign.com site you provided and it still couldn't extract. So I downloaded the OSUDT1 on the same site to see what would happen and I was able to extract that one fine, and I noticed all the same files in the OSUDT2 as the OSUDT1
, each file is smaller though. Should I give OSUDT1 a try since I was able to extract it? or NO?

Hi all this is a quick link to a issue some of us have had or still facing, after downloading the 4gb OSU1 diagnotic-tool with a check sum error from Microsoft server: system.xvd when trying to extract using winrar.

There must be a redundancy issue on M$ servers when downloading. I have found you can extract most of the files required and only need to re-download the corrupt 1.66 system.xvd but where?

Just open the torrent and select the 1.66 system.xvd file only as it is the only file you need to replace the broken one from M$..

I tried everything and nothing worked kept getting error 101 so I said f it and just tried OSU2.zip and bam after that I was on a very basic version of the home screen and just updated the rest of the way on xbox live hope this helps someone else in need.

Thanks for coming to the forums with your question. You can follow the guide here for the

offline update. OSU1 will be highlighted in green. This will be on step 3.

Plug your USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.
Open the Offline System Update file
OSU1.
Click Save to save the console update .zip file to your computer.
Unzip the file by right-clicking on the file and selecting Extract all from the pop-up menu.

Follow this link to the Start up Error Solutions Page and download the Offline System Update File (OSU1) onto your PC. It'll be a zip file so you'll have to unzip onto a USB that's at least 8GB and formatted to NTFS. Once it's all downloaded plug the USB into
your Xbox and you should be given the option to do an offline system update
