Can't copy OSU1.zip file to USB (Offline System Update)

There is no problem downloading the package. The System.xvd file in the archive is corrupt. The whole package needs to be rearchived and replace the existing download.

Xbox One S stuck Updating at 76%

To solve this issue you should perform an offline update through usb:

    support.xbox.com/.../system-updates-solution

    Try: www.xbox.com/.../osu1

    Page below...

Step 7: Perform an offline system update

To perform this update, you will need:

A Windows-based PC with an Internet connection and a USB port.

A USB flash drive with a minimum 4 GB of space formatted as NTFS.

Most USB flash drives come formatted as FAT32 and will have to be reformatted to NTFS. Note that formatting a USB flash drive for this procedure will erase all files on it. Back up or transfer any files on your flash drive before you format the drive. For
information about how to format a USB flash drive to NTFS using a PC, see How to format a flash drive to NTFS on Windows.

Plug your USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.

Open the Offline System Update file OSU1.

Click Save to save the console update .zip file to your computer.

Unzip the file. For all Windows OS versions, unzip the file by right-clicking on the file and selecting Extract all from the pop-up menu.

Copy the $SystemUpdate file from the .zip file to your flash drive.

    Note

The files should be copied to the root directory, and there shouldn't be any other files on the flash drive.

Unplug the USB flash drive from your computer.

  3. E202 error

Xbox One System Updates | Offline System Updates

Follow this link to the Start up Error Solutions Page and download the Offline System Update File (OSU1) onto your PC. It'll be a zip file so you'll have to unzip onto a USB that's at least 8GB and formatted to NTFS. Once it's all downloaded plug the USB into
your Xbox and you should be given the option to do an offline system update

I'm getting the same thing, apparently this has been happening since 12/8, they need to update the whole OSU1.zip file even though the only thing corrupted is system.xvd, its very important

So what's the status of this? I'm sitting with a bricked XBox One S right now that I can't fix because Microsoft can't post a **** update on their site without checking for corruption.

And yes, I've tried downloading the files from both a wireless and wired connection, and the results are the exact same--I get to 29% in the extraction process, then I get the error message that others are getting.

  7. Haven't heard anything yet, I've downloaded the file at least 30 times now both on my desktop & laptop, very frustrating.

Agreed. I'm trying to work with Support via Chat to see if they can send me an uncorrupted file. It's pretty obvious there's something wrong with the file they posted--it craps out when extracting the system file time and again.

  9. I haven't gotten anywhere with support yet, just the same run around on downloading the file when it's not a download issue but an issue with the archive itself.

  11. I figured out how to fix this,

Once you download the .zip file you normally can't drag and drop system.xvd thats inside of osu1.zip. All you have to do is try to open system.xvd with winrar and it obviously won't open with winrar but it will now try to open every .xvd file as winrar so
now you can drag osu1.zip onto your thumb drive fine Can't copy OSU1.zip file to USB (Offline System Update) :D

  12. I have the original Xbox and have spent hours in chat support on 2 different occasions. Completely useless. I have tried downloading on 2 different computers running Win7 and 10, using IE, Edge, Chrome, and Firefox. Extracted using paid versions of Winzip
and Winrar, and get the same exact error every single time. System.xvd within the zip file is bad. This file is corrupt and needs to be fixed ASAP. Now I have to send my console in so they can charge me $115 to fix it. Is this file corrupt on purpose so they
can just get more money out of you??? This is a well known problem at this point and they aren't interested in fixing it. I can download and extract OSU2 and OSU3 and they work just fine and have tried to update using both but both fails because they are
not what I need. I need the OSU1 file and it is impossible because the file is crap.

Can you explain this in more detail because it doesn't really make sense to me. Only file that is supposed to be on your USB drive is the extracted $SystemUpdate folder (containing the 8 files inside the zip file).

  14. IT won't work, the actual file itself located in the zip file is corrupted; I've reached out to both Twitter support & here and still have not received a solution.

  15. So here's my update. I just re-downloaded from http://www.xbox.com/xboxone/osu1 using Chrome, and then successfully extracted using Winrar. I did absolutely nothing different than I have been trying in the
last two days when I started this mess. I am assuming they must has fixed and reposted the file. We may never know, but I would suggest you all re-download and try again, it should work now.
