    Can’t control my tv with Xbox one s


    I recently upgraded my xboxone to an xboxone s. I used to be able to control my tv with my xboxone (on/off, volume, etc). I am still using the kinect from my original xboxone, but had to get the adapter to use with the s. When I set up the s, it said
    it automatically found my tv and cable. The system turns on/off my cable box, but will not control my tv. I have tried removing the device and readding it, but it does not fix the problem. Any suggestions?

    I had the same issue with my LG Tv but with my Xbox S. The fix for me was to get a HDMI 2.1 lead, the one with the Xbox doesn’t allow the 120hz 4K UHD!

    If you go into the Xbox display settings it will tell you what it’s reading from the TV and the compatibility.

    If you already have HDMI 2.1 then can’t help sorry!

    Hi, Thanks for the reply. It just seems wierd that this has happened on both of the xbox one controllers over night, even though only one was being used. Also with the other technical problems i was windering if microsoft had done something by accident
    as it hasnt effected the xbox one s controller!!! I can’t see how both my original xbox controllers have stopped just like phantomhive1875’s have?

    How do I get my series x console to control TV?

    I have tried turning everything off and disconnected everything, turned on the tv and connected the xbox to the amp and connected the amp to the tv making sure I plugged in to a arc input and turned that on I made sure the hdmi control on my amp was turned on my xbox will turn my amp on but my amp won't control my tv my old one s console had option to separately control both tv and amp but my series x console only has one option for cec control

    This happened before to me. Sadly you can’t play the WII on the Xbox One S only PS4 Normal Xbox One TV Gamepad etc sorry but to fix it plug in the cables again to fix it then try turning it on.
