Cant control my dashboard.

Hello. Iv'e been trying to get my Xbox one dashboard to load and register when i go and try to select a game and it will not let me. my background will not show up nor will it let me scroll left or right i am able to see my friends list but i can not select
any gamer tags. also it will randomly switch between my dashboard and my apps and games. my xbox was working fine just 2 days ago and last night i began to have this problem. i have also tried to hard reset it but since i am unable to move from my dashboard
i had to try the power button and that has not worked. I AM VERY ANNOYED AND WOULD LIKE HELP!

sorry if this has been asked but i was just sitting here looking at the controller and wondering ,,,how do i know when its going flat ,,,the 360 had a batt meter on the dashboard but i cant seem to find any info about how much life my handset has left ,,any ideas

 

issues in-game after wake-up using instant on from sleep

wakeing up the console ha no issues i can control the dashboard just fine with the controller however when opening back up Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate it looks like i was in the middle of doing something in the game however i cant do anything because the
screen is darkened with a pop up box saying the controller is disconnected however that cant be im using the controller to control the xbone dashboard itself and to "open" the game anyone able to give me a clue as to whats going on?

 

I am having a similar issue.

 

Try doing a factory reset by going to settings, console and updates and selecting factory reset and make sure you choose to keep games. The system will restart and hopefully resolve the issue.

 

@maximumExtreme im unable to its like a frozen screen all im able to do is look at a friends list and turn off the console. im not able to accuse any other parts of my system.

 

The settings icon should be at the top of the friends list. Your not able to select it at all?

When I open the settings it just goes to a blank screen.

 

are you holding the power button down until it shuts off or just turning it off then back on again. Also, when you do a hard reset your supposed to unplug the console from the outlet for 30 second to a minute then plug it back in and power back on. I just
want to make sure your doing it correctly

It'll let you reinstall the latest update directly into the console.

 

will it automatically start downloading? if it dose not it wont work.

 

You plug the USB into the console boot it up and hold the Eject and bind button on the console simultaneously.

There are plenty of tutorials on you tube if you still don't understand.

 

no no i understand it was just more that i was unable to use my controller but thank you and ill post back here is works thank you
