This has been happening to me as well. Seems like it happens when my uncle and I switch between each others hard drive. I will switch to my hard drive, it will be able to connect, then switch back, and my uncles won't be able too. It was happening to my
hard drive for about 2 days then went away. Now its happening to my uncles hard drive.

Unplugging both the router and the modem fixes the problem, but the problem keeps occuring.

It seems that there's an ongoing issue which affect users from Pakistan and their connectivity to Xbox LIVE.

Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)?

Could you also run a diagnostic test to Xbox LIVE and tell us where it fails to connect.

Go to Xbox Network Settings and select Test Xbox LIVE Connection.

When you run "Test Xbox LIVE connection" what is the exact message shown on screen? You are connected to the internet but can't access Xbox Live. Your router or ISP may be blocking Xbox Live.

Lazzarus, it looks like you're connected to your router with a wire, correct? I'm seeing that resetting your modem and router works, but only temporarily. Can you try a direct wired connection to your modem (after it's been reset), and then let me know if
that works consistently?

Guys, we really do need that info to get to the bottom of the issue.

Maybe there is a summer 2011 xbox update. I am having the same issues. At first it was saying my MTU was too low. I fixed that and now it says I'm connected to the internet but not xbox live. I'm sure they're making an update and soon everyone will be down
for a few hours.

same it would'nt connect me then it did but when i tryed to play black ops it when again and now its not signing in anywere!!!!!!
