can’t connet to xbox live after redeeming 14 day trial (xbox 360)

I bought a 14 day trial ultimate game pass and redeemed it on the microsoft website. After checking my subscriptions and seeing that my code was redeemed I turned on my xbox 360 to have a good time but it would not let me connect to xbox live. I tried
different accounts as well and I got a connection to xbox live easily, only the one with the subscription would not connect. I know it is a very small amount of money but if I would want to buy a longer subscription I want to be sure that it works well. Anyone
got ideas?
