Can't Connect Xbox App with Mobile Hotspot – Need Assistance

Check Mobile Hotspot Settings

• Data Sharing: Double-check that your mobile hotspot is set up to share data and allow devices to connect. Make sure that the data-sharing settings are correctly enabled.
  

• Network Band: Some mobile hotspots use 5GHz Wi-Fi, which can cause compatibility issues with certain devices. If possible, try switching your hotspot to 2.4GHz instead, as it tends to be more universally compatible.
  

• Data Limits: Ensure that your mobile data plan doesn't have any restrictions or data throttling. Some providers limit data speeds or connection quality after a certain amount of usage, which could affect your Xbox app's performance.
  

Use Ethernet for Xbox (if possible)

If you have a USB-to-Ethernet adapter for your phone or a way to directly connect your Xbox to the phone's mobile hotspot via Ethernet (like a USB OTG cable), this might improve connection stability.

Update the Xbox App and Your Phone’s Software

That error it's why you can't connect, the problem it's on the network and you will really need to reset it, or you can play using a mobile hotspot to connect the console

I just connect to xbox live with the mobile hotspot to watch Netflix and YouTube. I've been doing that for a year. Then right after the smartphone update Xbox won't connect to the phones hotspot.

I tried the hard reset and turning off the hotspot and back on again but the Xbox still can't connect to the network.

You cannot use a hotspot to connect a mobile device to a console via the smartglass app. The console and mobile device must be connected to the same WiFi network.

I've been using my mobile hotspot to connect to xbox live and watch Netflix and YouTube through the TV apps on Xbox.Today my phone had a software update and now my Xbox won't connect to my hotspot anymore. Any ideas?
