Can't Connect Xbox 360 to AT&T Hotspot

We have been connecting our Xbox to the Internet using AT&T Hotspot on our phones for over a year. Yesterday out of nowhere, we can't connect now. Network connection test fails between hotspot and internet, but we can connect other devices to the Internet
using our hotspot. Signal is strong. Receiving "DNS error" but I don't know what that means, I don't think I have control over DNS settings for my mobile data? Tried a bunch of troubleshooting but we can't get anywhere with it, same results every time. Any
help would be appreciated, or we'll have to cancel both Xbox live accounts because hotspot is our only Internet source.

Xbox 360 can't connect to wireless hotspot

Have not been able to connect my 360 to my hotspot (Verizon 890L) lately & therefore can't connect to Xbox Live. Signal strength is good. All other household devices connect fine. Went thru all suggestions presented by the console multiple times.
Went thru all of the online support steps. Adjusted settings on my hotspot. Nothing has worked. Been scouring Xbox.com for several hours now. No dice. Any help would be appreciated. It used to connect fine. Thanks in advance.

Hello Missy,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Troubleshooting a hotspot connection can be pretty tricky since there are no router settings to get into, but I believe I have a step that should help.

Restore Xbox 360 network settings to factory defaults

Press the Guide button on your controller, select Settings, and select
System Settings.

Select Network Settings.

Select Wired Network or the name of your wireless network when the network list is displayed.

Select Configure Network.

On the Additional Settings tab, select Restore to Factory Defaults. When prompted, select
Yes, Restore to Factory Defaults.

Turn off your console.

Turn on your console.

You will have to set up your hotspot again after these steps. For more info, check out our

We did try this suggestion with no success, still received the DNS error. But today I turned on the xbox and it connected right away. Whatever was causing the issue resolved itself. Thanks for your help though.

Hi Dark333. My name is Kyle and I'm an independent advisor.

To clarify, you previously used your Xbox 360 with a phone hotspot, and have now switched ISPs and can't connect to your new network, is that correct?

Does your Xbox 360 get the same error when connected to your phone hotspot?

you can connect over that. WiFi to the phone or hotspot, then phone or hotspot to the cellular data network.

A 360 S or an original 360 with WiFi can do the same thing today.
