Can't Connect Via XBox App

I've set up an account for both me and my son with the Xbox App so we can play Minecraft Dungeons together.

However:

From my account, my son's account appears permanently offline.

Within the iOS app, he can toggle offline/online but it makes no difference.

With the PC app, the toggle button is stuck Appear Online, but does nothing when he presses it.

I see him in my Friends list

His friends list is empty.

I sent him a message so he can at least see me, as otherwise he can't find me, but when he tries to add me a he gets "Try again in a bit. Something went wrong".

We're totally stumped as to why a) this is so broken and complicated, and b) how we can fix this.

We also have the Xbox Family app and I've pretty much enabled him to do everything just to try and get together.

Can anyone help please?

Hello Hootsmun, by your description has Minecraft in just one account and would like to play with your child correct?

If that's the case, unfortunately it won't be possible, game sharing is only possible on Xbox One consoles, if you try to play on your PC for example and you on another device each account will have to have a license of the game, the fact that you put your child's account in the family does not share the game.

try to connect your xbox via ethernet cable maybe there's a lot of internet capacity demanded by apps and that's why you can't use them

Computers only offer Display OUT. You can't connect it via cable. Only way to do this is using the Windows 10 Xbox App to stream the video.

Hi there, yes. When connected to my pc via bluetooth it is only recognised as a regular XB1 controller (can't use or remap the paddles etc). The Accessories app also only sees it as a regular xbox one controller.

None of the steps worked! All other devices like Android phone, PC, and other windows tablet are streaming fine except the surface go. Noting that I did update the devise today to the latest build software.
