Cant connect to Xbox Live.......

I have tried unsuccessfully now several times to connect.....tried with Ethernet connection and doesnt work.....and when I try to do it through wireless it states that the Ethernet is still connected making wireless unavailable? Any suggestions?

ok so I got a new router from twc yesterday, hooked it up and everythings fine, ive got an xbox 360 in the living room that's working great but my sons xbox 1 down in the basement cant connect to xbox live, I done the test connection down there and it said it was connected but he still cant get on xbox live, everything is hooked up just like before

you should add some more info in order to help us locate the problem. Could you connect normally in xbox live before this issue? Are you receiving an error code? What kind of router or modem are you using?
