Cant connect to xbox live

Hey ever since new year i havent been able to connect to xbox live. It gives me this security question and asks me my number i filled it and then the the console and the games get updated bt whenever i try to connect it says there was an error and some code
starting with 8 blah blah blah. i payed for this month and nearly half the month has passed and im gonna unsubscribe if this keeps going on

ok so I got a new router from twc yesterday, hooked it up and everythings fine, ive got an xbox 360 in the living room that's working great but my sons xbox 1 down in the basement cant connect to xbox live, I done the test connection down there and it said it was connected but he still cant get on xbox live, everything is hooked up just like before

Have you tried looking up that error code to see exactly what the error is? And please have relevant information if you are going to ask for help so people can better assist you. Like what the exact code is and what error message you get when testing the
XBL connection test. I'm also wondering why you waited half a month to ask for help and why haven't you contacted Xbox tech support to have this issue resolved.
