Cant connect to xbox live when my hardrive is in.

Hello. I have had my 320gb xbox 360 mw3 limited edition fir almost 3 year now and i have NEVER had a problem like this before. Whenever i turn my console on the circle just keeps spinning and spinning and nothing happens. (it is trying to connect to xbox
live) as soon as i take my hard drive out and use my usb stick, it signs me in instantly just like it usually would. I would really like to fix this asap. thx for any support.

Xbox360 60GB Hard Drive Problem [PLEASE READ]

Ok so my old 60gb hardrive wont work. When i put it in my xbox it restarts it and then i go to storage and it has nothing in there. BUT if i connect the hardrive to the transfer cable and connect that in the usb slot. Then go to storage and configure the
hardrive then it shows up as 17gb when the hardrive is 60gb wtf?

 

Sorry, this profile cant connect to xbox live on this console. To fix it, download it again.

When i try to sign into xbox live it says that my profile cant connect and to download it again buy when i try to redownload it is says cant connect to xbox live.

Try this out. Just keep the hard drive in but remove the USB stick. See if it connects just fine.

Is this an official Xbox 360 hard drive you are using? Not a 3rd party accessory? It's possible there may be an issue with your hard drive.

Are you able to try a different Xbox 360 hard drive? A friends perhaps? This will help determine where the issue is.

 

Yes this is an official 320gb hard drive that came with the console. I believe the hard drive is the problem because when i played Gta v of the hard drive it was freezing every 5 seconds and things were not rendering properly. I reinstalled the game and
it was the same. I am going to order a new hard drive soon but I'm disappointed that my hard drive has already broke with all my game data on.

 

I am running gta v of a usb stick that doesnt meet performance expectations and it is fine no lag or rendering issues just a little bit slow.
