Can't connect to Xbox Live to download my profile for backward compatibility

I installed Forza Horizon on my Xbox One X. Installation went fine but now I can't start the game as Forza wants to download my profile but its not working as it "can't connect to Xbox Live." Note that this is the first time I tried backward compatible game
on my Xbox One X.

After that, I try to play Alan Wake and I still can't connect to live to download my profile. Is the 360 Backward Compatibility broken?

Can't sign into 360

I try to play online backwards compatibility with the Xbox one and I try to sign and download my profile but all it says is can't connect to xbox live and to test my connection i tried to delete my Xbox 360 saves but it didn't work help me fix this.

Everything on the Xbox one side works fine.

Perform a hard reset EXACTLY like this and see if it helps the situation. If not contact support to find out what is happening with your account.

Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

Thanks, that got me one step further, I was able to type in my email address and password (though had some issues with the latter as didn't remember that 360 doesn't support 2FA and required app password). After that the profile download failed with error
code 80BC0001, so I'm still stuck. I have contacted support via Twitter but will try the options you listed. Thanks for taking the time to help me!

I can't download my profile, because this error code is preventing me from being connected to Xbox Live. You need to be connected to Xbox live to download a profile. Any other solutions? Not being able to play a majority of my games, because they're backwards
compatible is very frustrating!

Hello, my xbox live profile is called "RinsableMLG" and today for some reason, I can't play xbox 360 backwards compatible games be ause my profile won't download on the xbox 360 servers. I can play xbox one games, but I can't play my xbox 360 games
and my profile won't download and it states "There's a problem with your credentials, blah blah blah". If I use my other two accounts, I can play on the xbox 360 games but not my RinsableMLG one. I seriosuly don't know what to do and I'm panicking right now.

I have the exact same problem. I was just trying to play saints row but couldn't connect to xbox live on backwards compatibility. So I deleted my account and now I can't download on backwards compatibility with the same error message as you.

All my backwards compatible games have the same problem across all accounts. It's like the emulator can't even connect to internet.

When i try to download my profile from the dashboard, it says it can't connect to xbox live. Like if the console wasn't connected at all (but it definitely is).

The problem with this troubleshooting guide is that my connection on the Xbox One is perfectly fine. My NAT Type is open, and all services are available. It's only when I load a backward compatible game and the 360 menu pops up is when I can't connect
to Live or even download another profile.
