can't connect to xbox live through my wifi extender. please help!

recently purchased Netgear N300 wifi extender Model Number; WN3000RP and while it will connect to my xbox one it can't connect to destiny or any of the xbox live servers. i've run the connection test multiple times and it says it's connected and everything
is good but it won't let me play. i can stream hulu, netflix, and youtube but not play games. My NAT type is open if that helps at all. i've connected it to xbox live before but signal from my gateway is weak in my bedroom so i bought the wifi extender to
help. any help fixing this would be much appreciated.

Computer to Xbox Live

I can't connect to xbox live from my computer I used to use my wifi but it broke and I don't understand how to get on xbox live using my computer please help

"Can't connect to the Internet"/My wireless extender no longer working on Xbox One

So I recently moved my bedroom around, therefore meaning I moved my TV along with my Xbox One, and the range extender so it would be close to my Xbox again. My wireless extender has always worked on my One before, but something must have went wrong when
I moved them around but I have no clue what happened. I'm still able to connect to my regular wifi network instead of the extender, and I receive no errors. But if I try to use my extender, I receive the "Can't connect to the Internet" error and I'm unable
to use Xbox Live.

My wireless adapter has all green lights, except for the "Device" since my Xbox is not currently connected to it

The router has all working lights, and the regular ethernet continues to work as well as the wifi since I can still use the regular wifi on my Xbox

Solutions I have tried:

Restarting my routers

Unplugging and plugging back in the extender/trying a different outlet

Restarting my Xbox One/doing a Power Cycle/Turning it on and off normally

Disconnecting from the extender, and re-entering the password to reconnect multiple times

Looking through the manual for the extender

Looking through the Support forums for both Xbox and the extender

you need to change the address of your extender. otherwise it won't work properly

when I added my old router to the network as an ap, my ISP automatically gave it a new address.

you need to change the address of your extender. otherwise it won't work properly

5ghz signals are known to reach shorter distances. So now I know you're using wifi, you need to close that gap or rather extend the reach. A wifi extender will help with that or a mesh system as mentioned before.
Distance and the more walls the signal has to go through effect wifi strength.

Ill try testing the connection with my Xbox moved closer to the router to see if that's the problem. Thanks for the tip!

sometimes the broadcast extender doesn't broadcast the signal it's meant to extend and what ends up happening is that the devices that do connect are connecting to the original access point.

as rise of shipley stated, certain devices have a stronger reach for wifi.

can you see if you can truly connect to the wifi extender through your laptop or cell phone?

often times, this requires you to login to the wifi extender's interface and seeing what devices are connecting to it.
