It is connected to Ethernet. I tried deleting some cache. Tried a few games and none of them worked online. This was just a 1 month membership and I haven't bought it in a while. Went to family settings allowed all access and it still didn't work.

trouble signing into xbox live/ update unable to download

When i turn on my xbox it says 'a system update is available from xbox live. if you decline you won't be able to connect to xbox live until you take the update.' When i click yes it says, you don't have enough storage space to take this update, please connect
an xbox 360 storage device with at least 190mb free space. Even though i have 120gb hard drive and know i have plenty of space. It also is not showing my hard drive or any games or profiles.

can't connect to xbox live

On my xbox I'm able to get a connection, but when I type in my email and password it says that "account already associated with a different gamer tag." What could be going on here? I have a new profile with the RIGHT gamer tag, but when I go to sign on it
says it's not right?

If the affected profile is the same as you've used to create this thread (StarComa5484), then there's a logical explanation why you receive this message.

If you wanna throw yourself into action. Playing games online and integrate with people around the world, then you need a paid subscription, Xbox Live gold membership.

This profile (StarComa5484) is not tied to gold.

He bought an XboxLive Gold subscription, but after trying to start the Server, I got a message: "Your Xbox settings for Microsoft connection does not require a multiplayer connection. Checked privacy and online security settings at aka.ms/accountsetting

i have xbox live right now and i went to play call of duty black ops 2 on multiplayer online and my xbox home says that i am connected to xbox live but when i am going to play the game says that this profile is not allowed to play even though i already have

Yeah, NAT is already at moderate, and the child account is already set to custom and allowed to Join Multiplayer Games.

Networking itself is fine because as the parent account, I can play Multiplayer with no issue. And if I'm signed in then of course it's fine for him also.

Its only the child account that is giving me trouble. For any online game it keeps asking my child to buy Xbox Live Gold, even though a subscription is active on the box.

The error says "Your profile does not have the correct permissions to access Xbox Live functionality"

All profile settings seem to match.

Any other suggestions?

First you need an online profile to be able to play multiplayer.

Also some games, the newer ones, only allow online play.

But most will allow you to create an offline profile.

Same thing is happening for me. It says "connection to server is lost" and when I try to do multiplayer, it says failed to create an online game as one or more players are not allowed to play multiplayer games on Xbox LIVE. Uncheck the "Online Game" box
to start an offline game. The box is already unchecked, and its grayed out so I couldn't check it if I wanted to!
