    Vibroplex - If it's the console passcode this can't be reset by deleting the profile and downloading it again. That only works if it's the user specific passcode to sign into the account before being able to connect to LIVE.

    whenever i load a game it immediately disconnects me from xbox live.

    whats more, i can't even sign into a profile. i will test my network, it will connect to xbox live, then i will try and sign into my Live profile and it will say "unable to connect to xbox live"

    Hmm, is there any chance you were both trying to recover the account simultaneously? If your friend cannot recover the account on a different console and HDD either, then you may want to give phone support a call about the account.

    Have you tried deleting the corrupted/incomplete file from memory before recovering? When doing so, be sure to delete the PROFILE ONLY.
