Can't connect to xbox live on backwards compatible games

Hello, I have recently purchased a backwards compatibility game and I go to start it and it wants me to download my profile. Fair enough, start the process to download it but I keep getting "unable to connect to xbox live. My xbox one is connected to xbox
live though. Nat type is open, what do I do to connect?

Backwards compatibile games won't connect to xbox live

Whenever i try to play a backwards compatible games on my Xbox one i can't download my profile. A message pops up saying that i can't connect to xbox live and for me to test my network connection even though i am already connected to xbox live on the Xbox
one.

 

Xbox live issues

My Xbox one works fine with all games. I can connect to Xbox live and everything just fine. But, when I get on any backwards compatible game, it tells me that I cannot connect to Xbox live. I tried to delete my account, but now it is telling me I can't download
it again because I cant connect to Xbox live. There is no issue with my internet either.

 

Some people have stated this works.

Sign out of your Xbox account and run the game, it will then prompt you to select the account you want to use and then download the profile. This method has worked for quite a lot of people.

Hiya,

On your Xbox One go to settings/network/network settings/advanced settings/alternate MAC address, select Clear and then Restart. Then try again.

 

Sign off from your profile and when the game ask you to log in then you can try it again...

 

I have tried this. It won't even get me to the prompt to type in my email or password before it tells me it can't connect.

 

This did not work either. Saw a thread elsewhere to try DMZ on my modem. But for ipv6 there is a jumble of numbers and letters and only 4 boxes to type numbers into. Any idea which 4 to add?

 

11 people have the same question as this. It's obviously not a 1 off issue. Can I please get a response from a Microsoft Rep?

Thank you for contacting Xbox Forums support!

When launching a 360 game on an Xbox one console, please press the Window and Menu button
at the same time on the Xbox control. (start and select button)

When a 360 emulator appears on the screen press the Manage Storage
option and then continue (an option appears asking if you would like to continue/yes)

Select Profiles> Find and press on the profile> delete Profile only> then Bring up emulator again> Download account<

I tried this, but whenever I click "Download Profile", it tells me that it can't connect to Xbox Live. Hitting test connection just takes me back to the Xbox One network menu. I've had this problem for weeks now, and I can't play any backwards compatible
games online.

As of right now we do have an
active service alert for the xbox 360. Now since the issue has been going on for a few weeks as stated sounds like the console would benefit from a

soft factory reset (while keeping games and apps) Give that a shot and keep us posted!
