Can't connect to Xbox live? (I have tried everything!)

So I can't connect to xbox live and it is really bothering me. I use my xbox as a multimedia center a lot of the time and it has had so many issues connecting I don't know what to do. It never works for 2GHz connection and my 5GHz connection usually isn't
strong enough.

First off every now and then it will say my password are wrong when connecting to WEP but they are right and I have to reset the modem. Second I get DNS, IP Address, or IMCP errors EVERY TIME I run a connection test. I have tried doing it manually but the
connection is so awful that I can't even download a 8mb update. This was happening before so I bought a new router (ASUS N65U) and still have no luck. I ordered a new one that has (reportedly) better signal hoping that its just the signal strength. My ISP
sent workers as well and they said all of our connections are fine. (btw the xbox is the only device having problems connecting)

Any Suggestions? I'm beginning the feel like my xbox live days are over until I move out.

I have tried EVERYTHING!!!

Some questions to consider:

1. Can other computers connect to the internet

2. Can other computers connect to the internet using the ethernet cord your using?

3. What does it say when you try to test network settings?

4. Have you tried this article in the support section:

What are you trying to purchase? Batman: Arkham Asylum

What error code or message are you receiving (from the console)? Can't authorize the selected payment option. Please select a different payment option or add a new one.

What region is your account? USA

What region do you physically connect from? USA

I use the same card to purchase items on ebay so I know its working fine (also add paypal too and got the same error)... could it be xbox live?

Have you connected via cable rather than wireless, maybe the built in wireless adapter is faulty.

Do you realise you are silver as well though,so won`t be able to play online.

Have you cleared system cashe? Also unplug the power brick from the outlet and from console For 30 seconds then plug everything back into and try to connect, it work for me 3 months ago.

I just bought a wireless N adapter for the xbox. (its an Elite). I'll try the cache and plug reset

You may have more devices connected than your router will support.My Netgear allows only four.Try turning off all devices including your modem and router.Wait 30 seconds then power on your modem, router,and console.Allow 2 minutes for your router to boot
up fully then try to connect your console.

You shouldnt use WEP encryption because it is the least secure.I use WPA. I guess you have to use WEP if you have a Nintendo handheld gaming system so I assume thats why you use it.

Hey there sometime not being able to connect to xbox means tat you might have to clear the cache please follow this link and it will tell you how to do so if it does not work then please get back to me.

If it helps, you're not crazy, but I'm now experiencing the very same issues with my 5352. It is frustrating beyond all get out.

I am not expecting anyone to answer right away, but I have been brainstorming. Could this be Comcast or my modem/router? I just replaced the modem a few days ago and this is what started all the problems. I was able to connect fine with the old modem. The
new modem is a Zoom 5352 and I tried googing to see if anyone else is having problems with this and came up empty.

I also read some places that this could be comcasts fault? Maybe they did not activate the modem correctly or something along those lines.

Any ideas are appreciated!

Okay here is an update on another thing I tried. I disconnected the router and went straight to the modem. The modem is a modem/router (dont ask me why I use another router still, I just do) and I tried testing it doing everything exactly the same as above.
Still nothing. Here is my error code with having a static ip the same DNS and MAC address as my computer when i did ipconfig /all

Alright one last update. I managed to finally get past the network connection. I did this by using my router. I have the DDWRT firmware on it and I enabled DMZ under the NAT/QoS settings to the static IP i manually set on the xbox! However, I am getting
a DNS error now with my xbox here is the error code
