Can't Connect to Xbox Live After Latest System Update

If everything is up and running, let's confirm if the issue is not coming from your internet service provider. Please try to use a different internet connection such as a mobile hotspot using your carrier data just to test if you will be able to connect to Xbox live. Let me know how it goes.

I can download the update from the 4G network. That's not a problem.

I can also (and did) download the latest system update, copy it to a USB stick, and then update the console that way.

Both times, after I updated, it said that "an update is required but the update isn't available right now".

That means that after updating, I can't connect to xbox live.

The Xbox 360 console must have the latest system update in order to connect to Xbox Live.

Follow the on-screen steps to get the system update installed.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

Please power cycle your router. Turn it off and then unplug all cables connected to it. Wait for about 10 seconds, then plug them back in and turn them on2.

And then clear alternate MAC Address. To do this, please go to Settings > Network > Advanced settings and clear the alternate MAC address.

Next is to check NAT Type. Kindly make sure your NAT type is open.

Go to Settings > Network > Network settings > Advanced settings and check your NAT type.

Kindly use an Ethernet cable to connect your Xbox to the router for a more stable connection.

Please do check if this allows you to connect to Live.

Look on the right, and read Dashboard version. Post what it says here.

When you said in your OP, "... and now when I connect to LIVE it won't let me update to the LATEST version..." What does that mean? Won't let me? Does that mean you're getting a onscreen prompt, if so what does that say?

Is it one this?

• Can't download the update. To test your connection, open System Settings and select Network Settings, Test Xbox Live Connection.
  

Was it an error code comprised of six groups of four digits? Or no prompt or error at all? Does the system update prompt appear but not go through when you initiate it?

Because... if you can connect to Live you have the latest system update.
