Can't connect to phones internet

Hi, I'm having a problem where my Xbox (360) won't connect to my phones internet. (Or should I say my phones hotspot?)

What exactly is your problems? At what stage does the connect process fail?

Does the Xbox find your WLAN SSID when it scans for WLANs? Does it connect properly to the phone but not the Internet? Does it connect to the Internet, but not Xbox Live?

Also keep in mind, that some cellphone providers block the ability to use phones for hotspots for any application other than using the web or email. So it might also be that your cellphone provider prevents you using Xbox Live as means to communicate with
others, as cellphone providers also often block Skype or other Voice over IP apps.

My Xbox connects to my phone but then it doesn't connect to the internet, I even used my phone's internet on my laptop and it worked there.

Does your PC run Windows 10? If so: Were you able to connect to Xbox Live on the Xbox App on your PC, and use non-web applications like party chat on your PC?

the reason I can't use y phone hotspot is also because the Xbox forces a update as soon as it has Internet connection but the update can't be done as I stated before and basically my Xbox is locked when it's on the internet until I can find a better internet

When dealing with hotel internet, you need another source, such as a laptop or phone, that can access the page you need to properly connect. The console can't do it without the connection being made fully first.

Can't do that with my iPhone. A lot of phones over here lock out use of the phone, other than emergency services, without a SIM.
