    getting message "your privacy settings prevent chat with some people" on my sons account. I have changed privacy settings, checked the NAT but nothing is working HELP

    Party chat crashes

    Im playing on my brothers Xbox, and when I try to start a party, it takes a while to connect. When it does connect, it says im offline. When someone joins my party, they cant connect, amd if I snap, and open the party app, it crashes. Also,cant open my profile
    to see if im appearing offline. I can play online though.

    What's the exact error message that comes up? What ISP are you on? Also, can you both establish a wired connection to your modems, and try forming a party then?

    Hey there ConicalLemur9,

    Sorry to hear about the chat issues. Does your son have an Xbox Live Gold subscription currently? This would be required for online play and chat.

    You might also want to try removing the profile from the console with
    these steps     and then re signing into the profile to see if it helps out.

    Sorry for the late reply but the error message that comes up when he tries to join my party is "Can't connect to Xbox Live Party" and my ISP is optimum and his is time warner. He can establish a wired connection to his modem but I can't.

    We can both host parties with others with no issues at all it just seems we can't connect to eachother.

    Hi Jawhawk,

    What kind of router are you using and what kind of router(s) are the other people using that you are trying to connect to?

    There are some routers that will not connect with others even if the NAT is fully open. There are some settings that you can change on them to try to connect with others.

    If you could let us know, we'd be glad to help out.
