Can’t connect to my Xbox 360 account but all other accounts work

Hey,

I tried connecting to my Xbox 360 account and it gave me the message “Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Code: 8007007A”

I looked up the error code on Microsoft and I have attempted to fix the issue with some of the options Microsoft offered me.

None of the options I have tried work. One of the options is to delete my account. I don’t want to delete my account. I also tried transferring data from a deleted account to another account in the past and it has never worked.

I never had issues signing into my account before. It has been months since I have used it so I don’t know when this issue started.

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? I really don’t want to lose my account and the progress I have made with this account.

Hi Denkis J,

You can try removing and readding your account. You will keep your games along with any save progress.

Also, you cant transfer data from one account to another.

The last resort is a reset. During this you can keep your games and apps along with save data too.

the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select System > Settings > System > Console info.
Select Reset console.

On the Reset your console? screen, you'll see three options:
- Reset and remove everything. This option resets the console to factory settings. All user data, including accounts, saved games, settings, home Xbox associations, and all games and apps will be deleted. You should use this option when selling
  or gifting the console to someone else. You should only use this option as a last resort in some troubleshooting cases.
- Reset and keep my games & apps. You should use this option as your primary choice when troubleshooting. It will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or apps. This will save you from downloading
  or reinstalling the large game files. In some cases, if a corrupt game file is causing the issue you're troubleshooting, you may have to choose Reset and remove everything, but you should always start with Reset and keep my games &
  apps and save Reset and remove everything as a last resort.
- Cancel. To back out of this screen, simply select the Cancel button. No action has been taken at this point. This is a safe exit from this screen.

I tried remove my profile and downloading it again and it still wouldn’t let me sign in with the same error code as before.

Will resetting the console remove the other profiles on the console or will all profiles still be there?

I would follow what the troubleshooting says. If it wants you to remove profile, remove and put back on. That will fix your issue.

I remove my profile and downloaded it again and Im still having the issue to sign in.

I just tried that and it didn’t work. Now it won’t let me login to my account on the 360. It says it can’t connect to Xbox live.
