Can't connect to my friend on Windows 10 Edition

I've been trying to connect to my friend's world in Minecraft Windows 10 Edition. We've made sure our versions were the same and up to date and we made sure that the world is online, but if either one of us tries to connect to the other it says "Connecting
to multiplayer game" but then after like 30 seconds it says "Unable to conect to world". We've tried connecting by joining through the multiplayer tab of the menu that pops up after you press play, and through invites to game. We've looked online to see if
anyone has a solution to the problem, but we couldn't find anything. Any solutions?

Minecraft win 10 edition - friends can't connect to me

We were playing Minecraft windows 10 edition normally to this day, connecting through xbox live on our PCs, but today suddenly we can't. I am hosting and my friend can't connect to me. It's loading map and at the end just says: "unable to connect". Strangely,
I can connect to his game, but he can't connect to mine. We both have windows 10 pc and Minecraft win 10 edition. Earlier it worked fine, there were no changes in settings. Please help!

Minecraft Windows 10 Edition not connecting with Xbox One friends?

My friends and I want to play Minecraft together and I have Windows 10 Edition and they're on Xbox One. How come we can't connect to each other? Is it only over Xbox Live for those on the same system?

Update: I've deduced that I'm the problem. We had one of our friends try to join a world hosted by my friend and one hosted by me. He was able to connect to my friend but not me. Don't know how to fix it still, but at least I know the part of the problem.

Hello, if your friend is playing on windows 10 edition instead of java. It should be fine. It may either be an internet issue, his server may not be online compatible through a static connection, or your friend is playing java edition instead of windows
10.

Are you signed up for the BETA in any chance? As this will also prevent you from joining your friends if you are not on the ssme version.

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums for this issue. Sorry to hear that you're unable to connect to a buddy in Minecraft. Its possible that you're unable to connect with your other friend due to a NAT type issue on their end, since you've successfully
been able to connect with others on your end. However, you did say that there are already 4 others in there with you and with Minecraft: Windows 10 edition, you'd be limited to playing with 4 others online (or locally) unless you are subscribers of Minecraft
Realms (this allows up to 10).

It could be based on a variety of factors. The most notable being your internet connection, each user's privacy settings, and the settings of the Minecraft world.

For your internet, doing a quick restart of your router/modem could help if it is a connection issue.

For privacy settings, make sure that there aren't any restrictions preventing the both of you from playing.

For the Minecraft world, make sure that there aren't any settings that prevent other players from joining and that the play settings are adjusted accordingly based on how you and your friend would like to play.
