can't connect to live with Ethernet

I'm at college right now and I hooked up my Xbox using an Ethernet cable and it won't connect. I've had no problem in the past with it connected at my house or here at college but now It won't connect at all and there is no error message anywhere. Can someon
help me solve his problem?

forcing new update = cant connect to LIVE?

thats not it for us, we can't connect to live at all, not with any profile. Its exactly like if our ethernet was unplugged.

Connected to internet but can't connect to xbox live?

A couple days ago I was able to connect no problem all day today I can't connect to xbox live. I'm connected directly to the wall through a ethernet cord. I've followed all the steps xbox gave me to solve this problem and nothing. When the ethernet is connected
to my laptop i get internet so my internet couldn't be the problem. I keep trying to test my connection and the third part always comes up with a red X and says xbox live can't connect. Any help?

Can you clarify what happens when you try to connect to Xbox Live? You may need to check in with your school's network administrator for steps on connecting to their network.

Hi, Your school my have blocked these ports below or require you to contact them and sign up to use your Xbox at school.

If you have a firewall or network hardware, such as a router, you might need to make a configuration change in order for your Xbox One console to communicate with Xbox Live. This configuration
change is sometimes called "opening ports" or "port forwarding." Xbox Live requires the following ports to be open on your router:

Port 88 (UDP)

Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)

Port 53 (UDP and TCP)

Port 80 (TCP)

Port 500 (UDP)

Port 3544 (UDP)

Port 4500 (UDP)

If you plug in an Ethernet cable to your PC, the WiFi connection will stop on your PC because it should only be using the Ethernet connection. The only reason that I can think of for WiFi connecting and dropping is a problem with your Ethernet cable. If
changing the Ethernet cable doesn't work,
support.xbox.com/.../connect-live-using-pc try looking at that link to see if it can help you with your shared connection setup. Sorry I can't be of my help.

I'm hooked up to a Cisco DPC3825 DOCSIS 3.0 Gateway (Roger's Canada) modem / router.

I had the ethernet cable connected directly from the modem into my xbox.

However, when I selected test Wireless Network it told me to unplug the ethernet cable first!?

Now I have unplugged the ethernet cable and connect to Xbox Live via Wifi and also connect to my computer faultlessly. It's just weird that I can't use both...?
