Can't connect to Live despite having good connection

There is only one thing that makes me angry. after spending 400 bucks on the console, 60 bucks for live gold, some random hackers are able to hack a big company's server like Microsoft. We are expecting an explanation asap please !!!

 

It's a denial of service attack, not a hack. A bunch of d***heads are sending huge volumes of network traffic to both XBL and PSN essentially flooding the network so that no console requests (like sign-ins) can make it through the network.

On one hand you could say that it isn't Microsoft's fault and they are doing all they can to resolve the issue and try to win sympathy by boo-hooing about how they have to be away from their families on the holiday to get this back up for all of us, yadda
yadda yadda.

But on the other hand - which I am on - I say this IS their fault. Not that their network is being DDoS'd, that is clearly out of their hand and I appreciate that they are working to resolve the issue (though I think that the nation's ISP's need to be looking
for whoever is sending the most traffic to XBL and PSN's networks and shut them down).

No, where Microsoft is at fault and what makes me furious at them is the fact that they lock down their console and REQUIRE that you be able to talk back to XBL in order to sign in to your profile and access your games. Even disc-based games require that
you be signed into a profile to play them.

The ONLY game I can play right now is Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag because it allows be to play it without a profile though I cant save my progress.

Microsoft: I say to you, I have spent a fortune on this console and the fact that I cannot use it AT ALL when either your network is under attack or if my internet is out is UNACCEPTABLE. This ridiculous "feature" needs to removed. Players need to be able
to sign into their consoles regardless of network connection state and be able to access their saved games and offline features on disc-based games. I can deal with not being able to access online features, but not being able to play content that isn't online
simply because the console cannot phone home is plain stupid.

 

You can go to the network tab and select offline. This will let you sign in and play any offline games. I am having the same error code: 0x87DD000F. has worked for me every time.

 

xbox has been hacked by a hacker group called the lizard squad. its all over the net if you search for it. I'm sure they are working around the clock to resolve it. They have some of the best in the business working on this issue.

 

Some of the best working on it have taken since yesterday to repair it. I'm sorry but the reassuring we're working on it isn't going to cut it, what about all the people that bought their kids xbox ones for christmas only for them not to be able to play
most of the games with their friends online because of this. When you phone to complain all they say is there is nothing they can do. They have no department to deal with compensation issues for the millions of users who have had no service, not over the phone
anyways. I spent a lot of money on this console and people spent a lot of money on games and bits and pieces for me to use for christmas and I can't use them on what is the best and busiest day of the year online. Millions of pounds/dollars a year and they
can't deal with something like this is not good enough, we pay for our service, we pay for the console, we pay for our games and all are pretty much obsolete when the network is flooded with traffic. When I spoke to someone from live they said I have not been
hacked its because of all of the new users signing into xbox one, So now I'm being lied to about it as well cos it's all over the news this morning that Lizard squad have taken responsibility for it......

To lizard squad, what satisfaction can you possibly take from ruining a 10 year olds Christmas? Are you really that sad, that you have to ruin a childs christmas day because mummy didn't pay you enough attention?? or whatever bull reason you come up with.

To Microsoft, serious attention needs to go into sorting out a complaints procedure, your agent likened it to being banned from live saying there is no-one to raise a complaint to... not acceptable, Nowhere else in the world can you pay money for a service,
then when it doesn't work receive no compensation for an issue out of the users control. You take our money, offer us a service for when things go wrong on your end!

 

the real issue is the interview was launched on xbox and 20 million people all over the world are trying to watch it now, and streaming killing servers,, and floods bandwidth

Microsoft has over 1 million servers and 33 data centers more than any other cloud server provider

but the hype for interview movie on xbox combined with 4 million new christmas Xboxes are a major network drain

and its as much the ISP pipes to blame too,, their at 90 % today,,, I normally have 75 Mbps and getting like 40 today... everyone using network today no one working on planet lol

 

time for seal team 6 to pay the lizard a visit lol

 

It was working off and on for me all day yesterday. Yes Microsoft is a big company who "shouldn't" get hacked or flooded by this Lizard Squad group, however even a company like Microsoft or Sony (who isn't as big) does not have the firewall or whatever you
wanna call it to always prevent something like this from happening. Only government related things do, like banks for instance.

Even then, they could still potentially be hacked too.

Just take a deep breathe people, it will be running just fine soon enough. You bought the X1 or received it as a gift, love it and realize it is a machine that will be around 7-10 more years. A day or two or even three will not harm a fly.
