Can't connect to friend on MW3

Now I know MW3 is an old game but me and my friend were able to play perfectly fine until today. Now whenever we try to join each others games or parties, it just says joining..... then, unable to join. Our nat opens are both open, the ports wouldn't be
different because up until today we always could join each other no problem. The only way we can play together now is by joining each others games that are already in session. I've seen multiple threads on this but no answers that work. To reiterate, both
our nat types are open, ports shouldn't be a problem, we've both cleared our caches, and restarted our modems. Has anyone had this problem and fixed it?

For some reason I can't connect to Xbox live on mw3. It says error and that mw3 servers aren't available but they are because my friends are playing. PLEASE HELP!

Hey there, Btrix28! I'm very sorry to see any connections issues! Hopefully we can nail down what you're running into.

Most of the times, when users say to me, "My friend and I can't connect and our NAT is open," this says to me that those people are generally located within a few miles of each other. Is this the case with you and your friend? If so, do you guys happen to
have the same internet provider?

If not, please provide the following:

What Country/State/Province do you live in?

Modem brand & model number:

Router brand & model number:

How many consoles do you have connected to this router?

Wired or wireless (for each console):

If Wireless, are you using a white or black external adapter, or an internal (Xbox 360S) adapter?

Things you have tried:

Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/no/Unknown

Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT type?

Any Error Codes you encounter:

Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)?



This way we can double check to make sure there isn't anything in your set up that could be blocking this.

Get back to me with these things and we'll start from there!

 

Okay so I found an answer to this problem. You have to go into whichever game's files your playing on your storage setting and delete any corrupted files, then restart your xbox and it should work. It also might have had something to do with the update from
yesterday as well.
