Can't connect smartglass to Xbox One S while it's hard wired with a LAN cable

I recently attached my Xbox to a LAN cable for better connection speeds. The smart glass was working fine for a little bit, but now I can't connect. It worked when it was over wifi. Do I need to unplug my Xbox from the LAN? Will it work if I connect my laptop
    to a LAN cable?

    :)

    Can't connect to Fios wirelessly

Does the Xbox connect properly to LIVE with a wired LAN cable through that router? If it does, your FIOS Network is properly configured, and you should simply disconnect the LAN cable, and in the console's network settings scan for the SSID of your wireless
router. Then simply enter the passphrase and the Xbox should connect the same as with a LAN cable.

I thought it may have been my ethernet cable because my Xbox One can't connect wired, but can connect through wireless, so I tried using a different ethernet cable and it didn't fix it. I used to be able to sign into Xbox Live on both my Xbox 360 and Xbox
One wired, but it stopped working about a month ago and I haven;t changed anything on my modem, it's weird :S

    Hi,

The recommended network connection for the SmartGlass app is through a local or home network. This means that your current network set up shouldn’t affect the app’s performance. You’ll just need to make sure that your devices are connected to the same network.

For us to determine the root cause of this issue, kindly answer the following questions:

    • Are you getting any error messages?

    • Have you tried using the SmartGlass app on a different device like a mobile phone and check if the same thing occurs?

In the meantime, kindly follow the steps provided on this
    link
on how to troubleshoot SmartGlass connection and performance issues. Perform the
    solution for Windows PCs.

We’ll be waiting for your response.

Is it possible for smartglass to connect to an Xbox one that is connected to live with Ethernet

So this sounds as the your Smartglass device is not connected to the same network.

It has to be connected to the same network (lan) as the one. Having your Smartglass device connected to the Internet (wan) via your mobile provider is not working. It's only working if connected via WiFi to the same local network (lan) the one is connected
to,, no matter of the one is connected wired or wireless.

Constantly getting disconnected from Xbox Live.

Try a real Wired Connection to be sure^^

    A Lan-Cable (Cat5 / Cat5e) is cheap.

And nearly every household got such a cable.
