Can't connect PS4 to Microsoft Xbox account in Minecraft

I created a brand new email address to make a brand new Microsoft account. I had a variety of problems when trying to sign in to the Microsoft account.

I can login to the Microsoft and Xbox websites with the new account with no problem.

I tried downloading the Xbox app to my mobile and logging in, which was a recommended fix on these forums. I downloaded the app and logged in with no problems, but in Minecraft I get the error message saying that a different console is already linked to
the account. A different console can not be linked to the account because it is a brand new account.

I tried downloading a free texture pack, but the login gave me the same error message.

I tried deleting the saved data on the PS4 for the game and then retrying the login but I got the same error message.

I tried deleting the saved data from the cloud, then reinstalling the game so it was totally clean, but I got the same error message.

From posts on here I can see it was a big problem in December 2019, but I've tried everything I can find and think of and I'm starting to wonder if it works at all?

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that you are unable to sign in to your Microsoft account through Minecraft for PlayStation 4. Since you are able to sign in to your Microsoft account through the Xbox
website and Microsoft website. We suggest reaching out to Mojang
Support and PlayStation Support for more assistance. Also make sure not signed into Minecraft on any other device. We hope this information helps!

This is regarding Minecraft PS4 version and linking/unlinking a microsoft account.

I linked my sons Microsoft account to MY ps4 account. I didn’t realize this until it was too late. I have since created a new xbox gamer tag for me and using a new email account. It seemed to unlink because there was a flash
with my correct game tag in the bottom left corner but then it said ‘Opps! Looks like this account is already connected. Please sign in with your previously connected Microsoft Account...”.

After deleting all ps4 saved data files for Minecraft and application file and reinstalling application, it still gives me the message “Opps! Looks like this account is already connected. Please sign in with your previously connected
Microsoft Account...”

Anyone know how to unlink a Microsoft account from a PS4 account?

Hi, have you tried to change your ps4 email? i mean, go to the ps4 account and tried to change the email to another?

Why can't I connect my ps4 account to my microsoft account?

Sony and Microsoft are two different companies as are the engine of the two concles. It's the same as trying to put a ps4 disc in a Xbox.
