Can't connect player 2 on Minecraft 2 player local co-op

I have read on this forum and have watched videos on how to do this, but I still can't connect a second player on Minecraft local co-op. I am trying to play with my daughter. I will list what I have done:

I have an HDTV and an HDMI cord connecting the xbox360 E to the HDTV. My daughter can play Minecraft single player just fine. She does have an xbox live account. We do uncheck the online game. I have tried to connect when she is on another profile that is
NOT an exbox live. I have changed the display setting to 1080p and 1080i. Neither have worked. When I try to go into the game it has me choose a profile. I select one that I have created already and separate from either of her's. My profile is NOT an exbox
live profile. It says I have to exit the session to join. I choose no and it go back to single player. I choose yes and it exits the game and restarts it. After a reset I still can NOT join. I have tried to connect with her being on her exbox live profile
and her other profile. I have tried me being signed in before loading and pushing start. I have tried NOT being signed in and then signing in after loading the game. We have connected and could play split screen once. We went out of the game and the same problem
happened.

I have read your display needs to be set at either 780p or 1080i. Any idea on this?

I have read she needs to pause the game and have the second player join. Any thoughts?

I am at a loss on what to do. I would really appreciate any help. I have looked on the internet for answers and solutions. Thank you in advance.

ERROR

Why is there no local (system link) co-op? I can't connect to their servers to play multiplayer with my friends and there's no way to play co-op without connecting to ea servers.

Hey there, So what are your Xbox's display settings? I believe they will need to be put to 720 or 1080p and on the HD setting. Can you confirm this is the case?

You can change your settings following the steps here:
support.xbox.com/.../improve-video-quality

It should be as simple as loading up a world and on the second controller pressing start, the sign-in window will appear where you confirm which accounts you're using and away you go. There was an issue where an update made it impossible for silver account
to play split screen, but I believe that has been fixed.

Check your display settings and we can go from there.

I don't see why you can't. the full version of Minecraft lets you play 2-4 player local co-op. but if you try to play the demo version of Minecraft and it doesn't let you play with more then 1 controller then Minecraft blocks the 2-4
player local co-op on the demo version.

Resident Evil 6 and Call of Duty Black Ops 3 also claim 2 player local co-op, 2 player online co-op and will do the combo of up to 4 people.

Call of Duty will do the 4 person Lan, but not Resident Evil 6

If you're not worried about the Lan part, Terrraria, Escapist 2, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection can do 2-4 player local co-op.

In order to play Minecraft (Xbox 360) with 2 players you'll need it connected to your TV via HDMI. The whole issue with the screen tells me you have it hooked up differently which is the reason you can't play 2 player co-op.

If you like GTA you will want to check out Crackdown 1 and 2 along with Saints Row 2 and 3 for sure. They are open world sandbox games with FULL co-op campaigns. You do everything from beginning to end as co-op.
