    Can't connect online through Minecraft Realms


    Hello, a family member from Germany and I are trying to play Minecraft online together.

    I purchased a Minecraft Realm today.

    He is using a Xbox One S console, while I'm using a PC.

    He used a Xbox Live Gold 14 day trail and set up an account that allows him to play multiplayer games,

    When he tries to join a realm from the friends tab, he gets the following message -

    "You cannot play online multiplayer

    through Xbox Live because of how your account is set up. This can be changed in your privacy and online safety settings

    on Xbox.com."

    Does someone have any idea on what is causing him to have this error even though all his settings are on allowed?

    Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are experiencing difficulties with an individual being able to join your Realm in Minecraft.

    For this scenario, I would verify that his
    Xbox Live privacy     settings are configured to Adult defaults as this would be able to allow anyone to supersede any restrictions they might have on their account.

    Go ahead and verify that these settings are configured accordingly and let us know if this works for you!

    Hey Garret,

    I remember that they used to have Prepaid Minecraft Realms gift cards that you could purchase online, after doing some research however, it seems like they did away with these for whatever reason. The only way to buy a realm is through the subscription. More helpful information regarding Minecraft Realms can be found here.
