Can't connect online, go to settings or report issue

Please try the steps one at a time to resolve the issue.

Solution 1: Try setting up Manual DNS settings on your console.

1. Please go to Settings > Network > Advanced Settings > DNS settings >> manual

2. Primary DNS: 208.67.222.222

3. Secondary DNS: 208.67.220.220

Solution 2: Please try setting up a mobile hotspot connection using your phone, then connect the console to the hotspot connection. Kindly check if the same issue persists after setting it to appear online.

If the issue still persists, there have been multiple reports about it already. I would highly recommend reporting the issue using the Report a Problem app so that it can be investigated and fixed as soon as possible.

HI ShadowRanger248, Sorry to hear your experiencing this issue.

We have received reports regarding this issue and it may mean that the Internet connection between your Xbox console and the other party members is failing. This often happens because of incompatible Network Address Translation (NAT) types.

I don't have quick solution to this issue but the developers are aware of this issue and investigating. What would be of great help is if you could report this issue via Xbox App Beta using the "report a problem" so we can forward your info to the developers
to help with the on-going investigation.

Some users have also shared some tips that seem to help some users, try it out and let us know if it helped or not.

Go into network settings on your xbox one in the network settings menu find "Go Offline". Select go offline and allow it to shut down your network settings, wait about 30 seconds and then click "Go Online". This refreshes ALL your network settings giving
you a fresh connection. Restart your xbox if necessary and then try connecting to a party! If you had the same issue as me, it should work,,

In order to resolve this issue, we NEED more data from the users impacted. We want to get this resolved, but we can't do it without your help. Unfortunately, no one on my team owns RDR2 on disc in order to reproduce this.

Please connect to the internet JUST to send the report. If you can't reproduce the problem online, that's okay. Reports take other diagnostic information that my engineers need in order to investigate this further. What you can do is go Offline, launch the game, and then go Online and report the issue.

Also, my contact in engineering needs to know if this problem exists with other discs (games/movies/Blu-rays) or if it is just RDR2. Please let me know if this issue happens with other discs so I can update them.

can't report a problem can't do anything. It tells me I have a great connection to the internet and everything but when it comes to online no no no

Aaah, gotcha. So it's like a mobile hotspot? I'm afraid we can't support those for gaming. Even if you are able to get the console connected, there's still going to be all kinds of issues with connection strength and reliability. Your best bet for playing
online will be to get a home network set up.
