Can't connect my Xbox 360 to internet using wireless network

Hi, I have tried to connect my Xbox 360 to the internet using a wireless network; I can find the network and type the password, when I make a connection test, it doesn't connect. I have read the troubleshooting guide on the support page but still haven't
succeeded.

I bought a black 360 today and it won't connect to the wireless network I've been using on my previous 360. It says my xbox can't connect to the wireless network.

 

What is Xbox LIVE?

Xbox LIVE provides you with the most amazing entertainment experience through the Xbox 360 console. You can download and play games, get instant access to a large collection of games and music, and connect with your friends.

Wireless connection

You can connect your Xbox 360 console to Xbox LIVE without the need for any network cables. There is a wireless network in place that your Xbox 360 console can use.

Requirements
• An Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter (only available with the original Xbox 360 console).
• A wireless access point, gateway or router that is compatible with Xbox LIVE.
• High Speed Internet connection, preferably DSL or cable.

Note: It is not advisable to use Satellite, 3G or 4G mobile connections due to the possibility of slow performance or lag.

 

The first thing you’ll want to do is run an Xbox Live Connection test. First, access the dashboard – the main menu on the console. You can find your way back here from anywhere by pressing the Guide button (middle button on your controller) and selecting
“Xbox Home".

Once on the dashboard, navigate to the ‘Settings’ hub, select the ‘System’ tile, and then ‘Network Settings’. Select the appropriate network (wired or wireless), and then select ‘Test Xbox Live Connection'.

Record the results

Be sure to read everything that comes up after the test. Even if the test completes without an error, pressing “A” to access ‘More Info’ and "Y" for 'Status' may yield suggestions for improving your connection. When you do this, there will be an error message
across the top of the screen, similar to the sticky titles below.
