Can't Connect multiple Xbox one controllers to PC

I am trying to use 3 Xbox one controllers on my PC. The first controller that I plug in works perfectly although any other controller plugged in after that does not. They all appear in the ‘printers and devices’ section although only one functions.
The error it gives when I test the controller in printer and devices says: ‘Controller is not connected correctly’. I have updated the drivers for each controller and also used them with the Xbox to make sure they work. If I pug the controllers in one at a
time then each works on its own but as soon as I use more than one, they give the error. I have also updated my PC to the latest version of windows 10 64bit.

I can't connect my xbox one controller to my xbox one wirelessly or using my micro usb cable. i have changed the batteries multiple times, resynced both of my controllers i have tried, and tried multiple micro usb cables and i still cannot get my controller
to connect. my console just turns on and then i can't do anything because i can't connect my controller.

 

Can you share HW configuration details?

I have found 4 users with the same symptoms on Xbox Forum and Steam.

In most cases new Intel platform was used.

 

Sure thing, I'm using:

i5-6600K (Skylake)

Asus z170-Pro Motherboard

Kingston 16GB Ram

Asus Strix GTX 970

So yeah I'm using the latest Intel platform.. Any news on a fix?

 

Right now there is no known correction or workaround.

Your'e third user of 6600K + Asus Z170 mobo with this issue on xbox forum.

Currently there are 5 similar threads, but not all reporters have shared HW configuration details.

Do you have possibility to install additional USB controller on PCI-E and test if xbox controllers will work on it?

All Asus Z170 mainboards have suport for USB3.1, so maybe there is some difference in USB chipset, which cause this issue.

My setup is:

Asus Maximus VIII Gene (Z170) + i5-6600K + GTX960 (Gigabyte) + 16GB Crucial Ballistix Elite.

No I cannot test it by using a PCI-E usb hub because I don't own one. Only just built my pc.

Yeah that seems like a possibility, you've looked into this a fair bit by the sound of things, nice effort! If it is something to do with the use 3.1 controller then hopefully as that becomes more popular others with have the same issue as us. So hopefully
they will be forced to make a fix.

I had a look at your post on the Asus forum and yeah it's the exact same as me. I sure hope someone take a look at this soon! I was in contact with Microsoft support but they couldn't help because they said it was an isolated issue (before I make the post
in the forum).
