I am trying to stream music stored on my Windows based-pc (laptop) and the message in the above subject line is what I get after I click the "Selected Source", my list looks like what I listed below:

-Hard drive

-Current Disc

-Portable Device

-Laptop - I click here and I get the message: "Can't Connect. Make sure you have activated this console on your computer."

How do I do that?

Playing music from Windows 8 laptop on xbox using smartglass

If I go on my Xbox to the Music section, it gives me the option to play music from my computer (which is a fairly new Windows 8 laptop), and it has the laptop name listed, but when I select that source, it says "Can't connect. Make sure you have activated
this console on your computer." How do I go about doing this?

Trying to get songs from PC w/ Windows 7 to Xbox 360

I am trying to get music from my PC, which is running Windos 7 (64-bit) to my Xbox 360. I can see my PC on my Xbox but it says "Can't connect. Make sure you have activated this console on your computer". If anyone can please help i would greatly appreciate
it.

You have to turn on media sharing/steaming through Windows Media Player. If it is on you may have to enable it to send to the console.

Head to you Xbox Live account via a computer, and see if you can activate the download from the Xbox store. Make sure you have allowed this feature of queuing downloads via a computer on your console beforehand though.

Odd that you're not seeing your subscription! Let's get you in contact with
Phone/Chat support to take a look into your subscription to see why it isn't active for you.

You have to make sure that the account that bought it, is signed in. Unless your using home xbox privileges for that account with that xbox. In addition to that, make sure you are connected to the internet. Check your network settings. All digital purchases
give you a license to play the game. You must be online and have an active connection for your console to verify the license.
