cant connect at all

    Feel free to google, bing, or even ask jeeves after you crawl out from underneath your rock. Playstations network was taken down as well, this was not msoft's doing. Go ahead and leave for a dumb reason though, sony has superb cyber security lmao!

    I took my holidays in these days to spend with my son to play together with the "superb xbox one" But MS don't let me this happen because we can't play offline. We have lego batman 3, lego marvel, etc (all physcial copies). Every game required to sign to
    play. Why you MS brilliants minds do this type of things? When MS going to solve this problem? ASAP is not a good answer.

    Most games will work in offline mode - some don't though.

    I wouldn't blame MS for that blame the game developer / programmer that requires online access to play the game.

    Have you tried simply using the off line mode in netork settings, then redtarting your console while in offline mode then signing in again? Worked perfectly fine for me, logged in straight away. Back on halo with saved data that is saved on the console.
    Sat back right where i left off in halo 3. No probs. No need to disconnect router or ethernet cable either.

  7. Both consoles are money pits. I drop down 60 bucks a year just likes millions of other people for a network that some 12 year old with a computer can take down. I do not blame Lizard Squad (the hackers that have taken down XBL and PSN), I blame Microsoft
    and Sony for letting there networks get taken down by the DDoS attack. Lizard Squad put out a tweet to Microsoft and Sony two weeks ago stating that they was going to tare down there networks on christmas day yet neither of them did anything to safeguard there
    networks. So here is a though, why do I bother paying out $60 a year for a network that does not run 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year as it's advertised to do. Will I be compensated for the outage time? I doubt it XBL has had outages in the past
    and I was never compensated for them. Microsoft and Sony make money hand over fist off these networks but rather then spending some of that cash to safeguard there networks, they would rather take the money and run and leave us with some pos network that once
    again can be taken down by any 12 year old with a computer.

  9. I understand that the xbox Live or whatever else is down, what I don't understand is why cant I play any game in off line mode. I tried Sniper elite and it keeps wanting to login and obviously fails because of all the issues with the xbox live network. Whats
    the point of spending all this money on an expensive console and game when I cant even play. this is bs.

    Isn't it pretty well established that it is nearly impossible to defend against a ddos attack? Word on the street/internet anyway...

    There is nothing that can be done if this does end up being an attack. Microsoft are working as hard as they can to resolve the matter, which will be reflected on the below page so please keep and eye on that.

    The important thing here is that we focus more on the support and less on the free publicity that certain people thrive off. There has been no announcement to my knowledge by Microsoft to verify that this is an attack so treat it (however likely or unlikely)
    as speculation in the meantime.

    Please just make it so we do not have to log in online to be able to play our games.

    You could have set your Xbox to offline and still signed in to your account in return being able to play your games just offline.

    Whilst its fantastic to hear that some of you are getting back online, the service alert page still reflects that there are issues. If you run into any more problems please be sure to check in on that.

    Hopefully that is not the case and you are able to continue about your gaming with no further interruptions. Let us know of any further issues once the tech team have announced on the above page that the problem has been fixed.
