Can't connect 360 to XBL through Comcast

I'm in an apartment that gets internet service from Comcast, possibly Xfinity. I currently have a Netgear router connected to the wall through ethernet that is supplying my internet through Wi-Fi. I contacted Netgear, and after trying everything they could
think of, they still could not get my Xbox 360 to Xbox Live. Is there anything else I can try to get my console to connect?

Connecting with wireless router

I have a router through Comcast. I can connect through the wired connection, but not using my new XBOX 360 with wireless capabilities. I tried through XBOX support and they told me to contact Comcast. Comcast then tried to get me to pay $49.99 for technical
support. Do I take my new XBOX back to Kmart and accept the fact that no one can help me?

 

You say the router is connected to the wall. Is the internet supplied to you by the building or shared? If so you should contact the person who's supplying the internet to you to see if they can adjust their settings.

 

I think it's supplied by the building.

 

Ok, then you should try either hitting up the person in charge of supplying the internet or try a direct connection to the wall for your console.

 

Are you trying to use the internet on your console wirelessly or do you have the Xbox connected directly to the router?

 

I've tried connecting the Xbox directly to the wall, as well as both wirelessly and wired to the router. I'll see if I can find someone to talk to about the internet.

 

Good plan. If it isn't an Xbox problem, it is usually an internet one.
