Cant clip for more than a minute in 1080p

If you use an external drive as the capture location, you can record footage at 1080p that's way longer than 1 minute, but it has 2 important limitations.

1. You have to start and stop the recording manually. You can't use the "record that" feature to capture longer clips of something that just happened; that would still be limited to 1 minute at 1080p.

2. Clips captured on external storage cannot be shared over Xbox Live.

I think it's a good solution if you're recording footage to transfer over to a PC, edit, then upload to YouTube, but it's no good if you want to capture longer clips to share with friends over Xbox Live.

I wonder why they reduced the recording times though. I'm sure when I got my Xbox Series X, there was a 2 minute option for 1080p, but now, as you said, it's only 1 minute.

1)you can record upto 5 minutes on 720p and 2 minutes 1080p using xbox dvr. You can download clips to your pc using xboxdvr.com

2) you can purchase a capture card with more control. (elgato is the most popular)

You can link upto 5 clips in upload, if the clips are 30 seconds or less or more then link 5 together, save it then link another 5, save it then link both of them, as long as it is no more than 5 minutes, I have managed to link 23 clips together using the
one.

I did real captures on my 360.. and watch MANY videos.... there is nothing more boring than a 2+ minute clip of snippng from 500 meters..

Best clips for Youtube are 2- 3 minutes of either epic moments, ownage or silly crap.... once they g longer than that.... I do not even watch...

Best way to put it... the song you are syncing to... ONE song.. then STOP

we still need more options... I want sound effects and transitions and a text editor... and the ability to get more than one clip from a 5 minute capture...then we are good to go...
