Can't change Windows Live ID after 30 days

    Can't change Windows Live ID after 30 days


    I've tried changing my Windows Live ID and it gave me an error saying "Sorry, we can't change your Windows Live ID right now" or something along the lines of that. I read that you had to wait 30 days to change it, so I did just that. In fact I waited over
    30 days, (I think almost two months passed, then I remembered) and went to try to change it. It's still giving me an error, and I find this extremely frustrating.

    My current ID has no use, and the one I want to change it to has no XBL account linked to it. I've tried creating a fresh e-mail to see if I could change it, and it still gave me the exact same error so it has nothing to do with e-mails. Is there any way
    to fix this, or do I need to phone Xbox Support?

    Can't change Windows ID?

    I have two accounts right and I went to change the Windows ID it has been 36 days and it still wont let me change my Windows ID. I decided to try to change my other account Windows ID which it has been over 165 days since I last change my Windows ID and
    it pops up and say Windows ID can't be change until it has been 30 days well it has been over 165 days and still nothing. Why can't I change it. Yes I can access my accounts. Also I've notice there was a new thing with hotmail or live where it ask to always
    use https could it be because of that? Plus do I have to wait 30 days after making a new Windows ID email. Because I swear I could make a email and it would let me change my windows id email.

    Gamertag Change?

    Change the windows live ID on this account and then change your original accounts windows live ID to it. Keep in mind you can only change your windows live ID every 30 days.

    If there are any funds remaining on the account it may not allow you to change it until the funds are used. Also if you have used the account on any different console or have downloaded that will reset the counter.

    Change the windows live ID on this account and then change your original accounts windows live ID to it. Keep in mind you can only change your windows live ID every 30 days.

    Have you changed the Windows LIVE ID within 30 days? That is usually what would cause this issue because you cannot change your Windows Live ID until 30 days has passed since your last change.

    So if I download a profile to my Xbox, do I have to wait 30 days after I download to change the windows live ID associated with that gamertag? Because I have never changed the windows live id's associated with any of the gamertags.

    Hello there,

    As far as I know you will have to change the number by going to your account settings in Microsoft's ID(Windows Live ID).

    After changing the number it may take up to 30 days for the change to be effective.

    So you will have to wait I think.
