    Can't change the Privacy and online safety options


    Hi I am a long player of Xbox Live and I have noticed time and time again that my privacy and content restrictions are locked and it says "To change your settings, ask your parent to sign in and choose your gamerpic in Settings." But there is no such account
    that exists and I have no way to change my settings. Can I have help please?

    How can I change my Content Settings on the Xbox 360?

    Hey there, I believe if you follow the steps at this link you can change your privacy and online safety options through the PC and content should be one of the options:

    Hey there, if you can't afford the name change you could try changing some of your privacy settings so that random people can't send you messages or see your online status.

    I am experiencing a very similar problem. My account is of age (19) and I assume that I would be filed under as an adult. Yet I cannot change my privacy settings and apparently I have to access a parent account which does not exist to my knowledge.

    WHY?

    You have to change your Privacy settings in Xbox. Click on your profile & click Xbox settings then go to Privacy but I can't seem to go onto the Online safety option.

    There are three options:

    1/ privacy

    2/ xbox one online safety

    3/ xbox 360 online safety

    The option to not allow purchases only appears under xbox one online safety option.

    a problem with changing an option in privacy & online safety

    If you are able to connect to online multiplayer but not join clubs you may be on a child xbox account or you changed this option before manually.

    If your xbox account is a child account that can't be changed in any way - even changing the birth date. If that is so, you will need an adult to create an account, invite you to a family group and change some privacy settings for you.

    On your adult account go here https://account.xbox.com/Settings and click on the child's account and allow the option on the first page called "Share stuff people make (Xbox 360: Member Content)" to everyone
    (must be everyone). Also, on the first page, "Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites" to Friends or Everybody. And on the xbox one/windows 10 tab the second option down, "Join multiplayer games", enable that. Also enable join and create clubs.
    And then log out and in on the account in question on the console/device and that account can play online.

    If your microsoft account is an adult account you may be able to access that page but any changes will not take effect for real if your xbox account is a child account.

    If both are a child/teen account that page will take you to a page about adding a child account to a family.

    If you are on an adult account and can play online and change the option to disable online gameplay and then sign out and in and it says you can't play online (change it back after that and sign out and in again), please contact xbox support in a live chat
