Can't change the email linked to my Xbox Live Account...

Hello

I want to change the email associated with my longstanding Xbox Live account to my new outlook email, but when I follow the steps I am given an error telling me the new account is already in use. I mistakenly made a random account with the new email, so
I need to delete the Xbox Live profile attached to the new email in order to add it as an alias for the original account.

Please advise...

If I Change the Yahoo account used for getting the free 1 month Xbox Live Gold, will i loose the free trial?

Hello. When setting my free one month trial of Xbox Live Gold I used a Yahoo email to create the account, believing that Microsoft would assign or let me create a new hotmail email linked to my Xbox Live account, which I have come to realize that is not
the case. Without a hotmail email associated with said account, I can't access it, nor can I perform changes like turning off the automatic renewal.

I know I can change the email used, for a hotmail email that will be linked to the Xbox Live Gold account. But, will I loose the free month if I change to an already existing hotmail email not associated with a previous gamertag?

since the account that you are wanting to change to is already a Microsoft email server account (outlook.com) you will not be able to use that particular email

what you can do is sign into the account that you want to change the email for at account.live.com/addassocid and either create a new outlook account to be added to this particular account or use an existing email that is not a Microsoft email server account
(Hotmail.com, outlook.com, live.com, msn.com)

You can't change the email linked to the Xbox account without changing the email of the Microsoft account, as the Xbox account it's part of the Microsoft account and the Microsoft account it's the email that has currently linked

You can't "merge" accounts, however I think what you may be looking for is changing the associated email for your Xbox Live account?

You can create a new account or you can go to https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/Account-Profile/manage-account/change-email-sign-in-for-microsoft-account to change the email to it. I hope this helps!

if the email linked to the Xbox account is a Microsoft email (Outlook, Live, Hotmail) then it can't be removed from the account as that would permanently delete that MS email account.

Hi there,

you can't merge accounts itself or fully move the Xbox Live Account to a different Microsoft Account, but something that could work for you is changing the primary email address for the Microsoft Account.

My assumption what steps might be required are:

- Change the primary email on the New Unused Xbox Account account to something else (you might need a new MS account/email for that) so that the Wanted email address is no longer attached to a Microsoft Account.

- Change the primary email on the Old Xbox account to the new wanted email address, so that that Wanted email address can be used to sign in to the Xbox main account.
