Cant change the Download folder from C: to E:

Hey, Thanks for the Reply, but it sadly didnt worked. i have it all updated and i have all the xbox apps which i need to have.
sadly im trying it for the last 2 days..

Hello again Mattiexe, try to follow the procedures bellow.

Sign out from your account on both Xbox app and Microsoft Store and do this:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for gaming services app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then reset

Then do the same for the Xbox app:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for Xbox app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then reset

Finally do this:

Step 1: Open the Run window by pressing Windows + R key.

Step 2: Input WSReset.exe in the Run window and click OK.

Step 3: Then a command prompt window will appear. After a few seconds, Windows Store will open.

Sign in again on both Microsoft store and Xbox app with your account and verify if the issue has been solved

If that doesn't work, Reinstall Gaming Services using powershell command

Press Windows key + X and then select Windows PowerShell (Admin).

Type or copy / past the following command and press Enter:

Get-AppxPackage *gamingservices* -allusers | remove-appxpackage -allusers

Restart the PC and Open the Xbox application.

A blue notification with the following message is going to appear at the bottom:

"This app needs an extra component. Gaming Services is needed for playing some games. Administrator approval required. Install"

Select Install to reinstall Gaming Services, once installed check again

Also, make sure all Xbox Apps are up to date in the store, and make sure you have the Xbox Companion App installed, it works with the Xbox App.

It happens to every single game that I select my E drive and it still downloads on my C drive. I want to download and install Forza Horizon 5 on my E drive because I have 5TB of storage on it and 1TB on my C drive which is almost full.

Could this be caused because my E drive is exFAT which doesn't allow me to get into the WindowsApps folder? On my C drive I gave myself acces to the WindowsApps folder and all the folders under it. On my E drive it doesn't seem to work. The only thing I could find is that it is caused by exFAT.

Did you change the install folder from the default C:\ ?

I just had the same issue, tried all the steps above which didn't fix it, tried re-downloading the game to the C:\ and it works fine.
