Can’t change the account associated with a gamertag

I’m trying to create a new xbox profile with an email I’ve been using for a long time, the issue is there’s an old abandoned xbox account already attached to that email. It seems the only way to free up the old email is to switch the abandoned account
to a throwaway, so I made a throwaway and got on the 360 that has the old gamertag so I can switch it, but when I try to switch it it says it is unable, and points me to xbox.com/accountswap, a page that doesn’t exist

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. I'm sorry to inform you the option to transfer saved data, achievements and any/or game purchases from another Microsoft Account will not be possible. We currently do not have an available feature. The one
step we have available is changing the primary email on the Microsoft account. You
can however set up home console on your main profile. Note: If
you choose to remove an alias that uses a Microsoft domain such as @hotmail.com, @outlook.com, or @live.com, that alias will be completely deleted and will not be available to sign in to any Microsoft services. A microsoft and Xbox
account are one and the same. As there is nothing more I will be locking this thread.

The Microsoft account (Windows Live ID) associated with this acount is not valid fix:

When you get the “Windows Live ID associated with this account is not valid” error, select Change Windows Live ID.
Select Continue.
Type the email address of the Microsoft account (Windows Live ID) that you want to associate with your gamertag.
Type the password that is associated with this Windows Live ID.
Confirm that the Microsoft account information is correct.
Accept the Xbox LIVE Terms of Use and Privacy Statement. If you select Decline, your changes will not be made.
Complete the changes and then return to the Xbox dashboard.
Sign in to Xbox LIVE with your gamertag.

If you still can’t sign in, contact Xbox Support. See the Assistance section at the bottom of this page for more information.

Gamertags are tied to a Microsoft account, so changing the email address associated with the Microsoft account will also change the email address associated with that gamertag. There's a guide on

how to change the email address associated with your Microsoft account that can help walk you through that process.

Technically transfers cannot be do but you can change the email address associated with a microsoft account.

In order to associate the gamertag with another account you will need to create a whole account with an email address and then do the following to associate the gamertag to that account. How
