    Can't change purchase settings


    I can't figure out how to update my purchase settings on my new Xbox One. I am told that I need a parent to sign in to change the settings, but I am the only account in my Microsoft Family, and I am over 18. Even so, I logged into my dad's account, but
    can't find any settings that would affect mine.

    I am trying to download a paid game from the Store on the Xbox One, but I get locked out. In the Privacy Settings, it says I can only download free content and the selection is greyed out. If I try to make the purchase on xbox.com, I am told the download
    is not available for child and teen accounts.

    Am I missing something, like a checkbox in either my account or my father's? How can I tell who my "Parent Account" is? How can I remove this parent account so I don't have to deal with this anymore?

    Purchasing issues

    I have $25 dollars on my account and i tried to purchase the killer instinct combo pack but it said i couldn't purchase it and i have to change my settings to purchase anything so i go to change my settings but i can't because i apparently have a child's
    account and when i try to add a family member i can't because the option is completely grayed out so i can't add a parent to be able to change the settings and i have $25 just sitting in my account uselessly what should i do?

    How do i change my purchase settings, i can't figure it out at all, I've looked for hours. I want to buy the Forza 5 VIP Membership but it say that i need to change my setting to allow purchases. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    if you are over 18 your account may not have been graduated properly. if your account is still a minor you will need to have the issue escalated to have a new adult account added as the parent account to moderate your child account. either way you will need
    to contact support to get this done. if your account didn't graduate properly its as simple as giving them your account info and verifying in via text or email and them clicking a button. if your account is still a minor you will need to go through a longer
    process to add an adult account as the parent. if you are in the US the support number is 1-800-469-9269

    I will most likely be checking the forums again tomorrow. but if you and your account are of age it should be a quick fix as long as you have access to a phone or email on your account to get the security code they send to you.
