    Can't change privacy and online security on xbox.com I am an adult


    Clarified my problem abit

    First, im an adult and so is my account.

    I can't change the settings on xbox.com in privacy and online security for

    •Broadcast games

    •Share outside of xbox live

    •Share content created with Kinect

    They are on blocked and when i change to allow and press save they just go back to blocked.

    In my xbox the settings are all on allow but they seem to be overridden by xbox.com

    Only those 3 it seems. I haven't tried all but i fid try to see what would happen with other settings.

    This has never happened before and i discovered it a few days ago when i pressed a link in a game to link it to discord. Got the message that my console did not have the right settings to access the internet so i ofc checked the settings and they were fine.
    On more digging i found the settings on xbox.com that showed different permissions than on my Xbox.

    A problem when i search for help is that everyone who had similar problems was because of child accounts etc.

    Family+ privacy setting issues

    I have tried redownloading my account and changing my settings on the website, but all I ever see when I go to my Privacy & online safety is: "Your privacy settings are in effect, but can't be changed until we connect to the service." Just like B4Halo and
    I know I am an Adult b/c I can make purchases on my 360 plus there is no option to upgrade to Adult and I am legally an Adult.

    Account says I'm a child account, although I'm not.

    Whenever I try to change my settings through aka.ms/accountsettings , it always leads me to this page: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4026796/microsoft-account-change-childs-xbox-privacy-online-safety-settings . Although I am an adult
    account, I cannot access any of the links on this page OR xbox.com that would let me change my privacy settings. Any help?

    Hey Krittament!

    There is no way to graduate a Microsoft account to an adult. What can be done is go into the

    privacy and online settings     from the adult account and change the settings. Give it a shot and keep us posted!

    Is your account a child account or an adult account?

    Look over this
    article     that explains how to update your online and privacy settings on the Xbox console or from Xbox.com.

    Just be aware child accounts need permission to change any settings from a verified adult account.
